Schedule

Regular classes are conducted Saturday, September 9th, 2017 to June 12, 2018.

There will not be classes on the following dates:

  • Thanksgiving – Monday October 9th
  • Halloween – Tuesday October 31st
  • Christmas Vacation  -Wednesday Dec 21st – Wednesday Jan 4th

Parent Viewing

Parents are welcomed to watch classes during the first week of November and February.

Purchasing Dancewear and Batons

Phoenix maintains a small inventory of bodysuits, batons, tights, and jazz shoes for its members. All gear may be purchased during our in-person registration from 5:30 – 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 30th. New batons are $35. Pending availability, gently used batons can be purchased for $20.

Ballet shoes and tights should be purchased at either of these locations:

Attendance

Missing classes, arriving late, or leaving early will greatly impact the learning process. Regular attendance is required. Please notify the instructor with any required absences.

Students should arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled class start time.

Classes longer than 2 hours in length will have a short refreshment break. Please send a healthy, nut free snack and water bottle with your child.

Phoenix Baton reserves the right to cancel or combine classes as registration warrants.

Withdrawal Policy

Sessional classes are non-refundable without a valid medical reason. Withdrawal from a full season class is allowed with one month’s advance notice. If notification is received on or after November 30th, costume and tracksuit deposits cannot be returned.

Fees – How to Pay

Online payment can be made using Interact e-transfer. Please send payment to: phoenixbaton@gmail.com

Year long programs have the option of paying by the month. Those wishing to do so, will be provided with forms that will allow automatic monthly withdrawals to be set up. Alternately you may submit post-dated cheques for the entire season, dated for the first day of each month.   Cheques can be mailed to: Phoenix Baton, c/o 5463 Universal Crescent, Regina SK S4W 0K8

Year Long Program Fees – what do they include?

In addition to your regular classes, the Program Fees for pre competitive and competitive baton programs will cover and/or offset the following expenses:

  • Competition entry fees for group routines
  • Club social functions
  • Year-end recital expenses (facility rental)
  • Extra rehearsals (gym rental, coaching)
  • Travel assistance for coaches attending out of town competitions

The following expenses are not covered through your program fees:

  • Individual/solo costumes (can range from $25 to $100 per costume)
  • Group costumes (approx. $75/costume)
  • Club tracksuit jacket (approx. $65)
  • Badge testing ($15/badge)
  • Travel costs (mileage, airfare, hotel, meals) to attend out of town competitions
  • Entry fees for individual/solo events (estimated at $80/year for Pre Comp 1; $160/yr for Pre Comp 2; $216/yr for Comp 1; $260/yr for Comp 2; $360/yr for Comp 2/4)
  • Membership with Sask Baton and required assessment fees ($25/year for Pre Comp 1 and 2; $45/yr for Comp 1, and $170/yr for Comp 2-4)

Fundraising options are available for families wishing to offset their fees, costume or travel expenses.
